On November 26, 2024, the Action League 2024 Charity Ceremony hosted by IFENG took place in Beijing, gathering guests from various fields such as philanthropy, academia, business, and culture to honor outstanding figures, projects, and enterprises in the public welfare sector for their achievements in 2024. At the ceremony, Ms. SONG Yan, Chairperson of the Beijing Jingyan Foundation, was awarded one of the Top 10 Philanthropic Figures of the Year.

The Action League 2024 Charity Ceremony, marking its ninth edition as a cross-sector collaboration platform, centered around the theme "Cross-Industry, Mutual Trust, and Sustainability." The event aimed to recognize and celebrate projects and ideas that have made a significant impact in the philanthropic sector, with the overarching goal of inspiring greater societal participation and support.

This year’s awards were based on self-nominations and expert recommendations, with a panel of professional judges selecting the most socially influential figures, projects, ideas, and enterprises in the philanthropic field, including the "Top 10 Philanthropic Figures of the Year," "Top 10 Philanthropic Projects of the Year," "Top 10 Philanthropic Ideas of the Year," and "Top 10 Philanthropic Enterprises of the Year."

Protecting Children's Health, Illuminating a Brighter Future

Children symbolize hope, legacy, and the future. Their health and education are pivotal to family happiness, social harmony, and the progress of humanity. Ms. SONG Yan has long been dedicated to issues concerning children's health and education, actively working to improve children's well-being and support their education as an essential aspect of fulfilling her social responsibility.

In 2015, Ms. Song Yan and her family made a generous donation to establish the Beijing Jingyan Foundation, a family-led non-public fundraising charitable organization, with Ms. Song serving as chairperson. Since then, the Foundation has launched a series of initiatives focused on children's health and education, including the Love Guardian premature infant assistance project, the Building Love for Thalassemia Action program, the Heart Guardian congenital heart disease support initiative, and the Morning Star Plan educational assistance program. These efforts aim to provide high-quality medical care and educational support to children in need, continuously improving their living conditions and developmental prospects.

Under Ms. SONG Yan's leadership, the Beijing Jingyan Foundation has firmly believed in the power of scientific, transparent, efficient, and innovative operations to enhance the impact of philanthropy. With a humble and pragmatic approach, along with the Foundation's efficient and transparent organizational structure, it has earned praise from families and professionals in the sector for its accessible medical networks, straightforward application process, efficient approval mechanisms, and precise financial management.

To date, the Beijing Jingyan Foundation has assisted over 2,200 children in need, with financial aid surpassing 75 million yuan. The Foundation has grown into a leading philanthropic organization in China, particularly in the field of critical childhood illnesses such as thalassemia and was rated as a 4A-level social organization in 2023.

Staying True to the Original Intention, Committed to Deep-rooted Progress

As the various initiatives continue to progress and expand, Ms. SONG Yan’s philanthropic vision has also evolved. Her focus now extends beyond addressing immediate needs to considering the future development of entire families with sick children. Her approach integrates a broader social mission, mobilizing resources from multiple sectors to solve or alleviate societal challenges.

Ms. SONG has shared, "The Jingyan Foundation is a family-led initiative, and we focus on the family as the core, aiming to fundamentally solve their problems." In addition to providing sick children with access to high-quality medical care, the Beijing Jingyan Foundation has expanded its scope, introducing post-surgery support, humanitarian care, and more. In collaboration with partner hospitals, the Foundation has introduced the LEGO Group’s Lele Box Plan to provide rehabilitation supplies and living stipends for children and their families. The Morning Star Plan also offers educational support, including grants and scholarships for school-aged children and their siblings.

The Foundation has also been actively empowering grassroots healthcare systems, advancing preventative measures, and working to reduce birth defects. Since 2023, the Jingyan Foundation has organized seven major Healthy China Tour events, bringing renowned medical experts to thalassemia high-incidence regions such as Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hainan to conduct free medical consultations and screenings. They also hosted training sessions for local healthcare professionals on thalassemia diagnosis and treatment, bolstering the region’s efforts in disease prevention and control.

In 2023, the Beijing Jingyan Foundation launched the "Zero Thalassemia Plan" in partnership with government agencies, providing financial and technical support to help high-incidence regions achieve "zero thalassemia" and assist in proactive governance efforts.

Due to her outstanding achievements and influence in areas such as medical aid for children in need, regional healthcare support, children's welfare, and philanthropic innovation, Ms. SONG Yan was honored as one of the "Top 10 Philanthropic Figures of the Year" at the Action League 2024 Charity Ceremony.
